Celebrating Malbec World Day in Buenos Aires
17 April 2012 Posted By J.W.
Bienvenidos a Buenos Aires!
I want to wish all of my readers a very happy Malbec World Day from one of the most exciting wine cities in the world! I have the distinct pleasure of being right here in Buenos Aires as the festivities begin in various locations across the globe. I arrived in town on Saturday, and I look forward to sipping a few Malbecs and toast to Malbec aficionados everywhere.
Malbec World Day, April 17th, is an international celebration to commemorate the day that previous Argentinian President, Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, decided to transform the wine industry in Argentina. Since then, Malbec has become a staple at restaurants, bodegas, and in homes across the country. If you happen to be in Buenos Aires, and were lucky enough to snag an invitation, you can celebrate #MWD at the Puerto Madero Yacht Club this evening at 7:30p.m. Email info@winesofargentina.com for more information.
To learn more about the celebration, check out the #MWD video below. Also, feel free to check back here later on in the evening, as I will be posting pictures from around the city. I will be celebrating #MWD from the Duhau Restaurant and Vinoteca at the Park Hyatt in Buenos Aires, the top hotel in Argentina as reviewed by Travel & Leisure Magazine.
